Which pellet grill is for me? Main questions and tips.
Where are you going to use it?
Pellet grills usually have wheels so is not a problem to handle them through your backyard for a BBQ party and back.
Remeber that they need electricity for the control panel so make sure it is available.
They can be big and you have to think about storing it. You will be probably using it for smoking slow cooking so don´t hide it too much back in the garage.
Size, are you cooking for 4 or 40?
This is allways related, like in any other grill, cooking capacity is the first thing to consider, small one for your family, big one for parties?
You probably can answer this quickly but make sure you don´t overexpend in something you are not going to use.
Take in mind that pellets combine smoke with grill and provide a taste and flavor that you can apply to meat, veggies and seafood, so you can use it in a weekly basis.
Pellet grills have a generous cooking grate and even 2 racks to work with direct and indirect heat. When cooking with low temperature for a greater flavor, you can use your control panel to program when you need to change the temperature to get the crusty taste.
Another good thing to be considered is that you can put easily 16 burgers at the same time so no need to wait in your BBQ party.
Cooking smoked veggies with meat with both racks is a really amazing easy task for a delicious result.
Basic or High Tech features
All the pellet grills work in the same basic way but some of them include computer control systems to feed pellets and set the desired heat. You can even programe it to forget it.
Others are including high technology features that make it stand out from the crowd—like Wi-Fi capability for smartphone control in the mobile app.

What are the pellets?
A wood pellet is a small, 1/4 inch diameter piece of hardwood that burn cleanly and quickly. Wood pellets come in a wide range of flavors like hickory, oak, cherry, apple or mesquite, and treated flavors like whiskey or bourbon.
All-natural hardwood pellets are moved from the hopper to the fire pot by an auger, where they’re ignited to feed the flames and add delicious wood-fired flavor to your food.
A fan circulates heat and smoke for even, consistent cooking, and a drip tray keeps flames off your food and prevents flare-ups. Usually all is managed by a small control sytem that sets the temperature so no need to be on top of it. Just take a cold beer and enjoy a good conversation with your friends.
And what makes it special?
Real taste doesn’t just happen – it’s made from all-natural hardwood, producing perfect smoke. It starts with all-natural hardwood pellets made in American mills.
Designed specifically to work with grills, pellets are calibrated for maximum consistency so you get perfect results every time.
Grill pellets also come in a variety of flavors to suit every type of food. Fruit woods like cherry and apple impart a sweeter, more subtle flavor that matches perfectly with poultry, pork, seafood, and baked goods. Bolder staples like oak, hickory, and mesquite are tailor-made for savory beef, wild game, and vegetables.
You can even find bourbon or whiskey flavor to add a different point to your BBQs.
